Cover of the 'Theme from Schindler's List' - John Williams

The movie 'Schindler's List' has popped up a few times on our TV as a recommended film. I've seen it, it's heartbreaking and I've been thinking about introducing it to my son at the right time (which isn't yet). The music is just pure beauty and its haunting theme is one of my favourites. I had a few hours to spare today and thought I'd do a version of it. I know the music - and indeed the subj...

I love this song , I would love to have the lyrics or and score sheet.
A beautiful piece of music.
Thanks Gaz. I was drawn to Psalm 31 just now and reading it has brought much blessing and reassurance. Your playing of this old chorus came up on Google as I further reflected and it is a great tune to carry away with me to remind me of the truths in this Psalm. Thank you and bless you. Mel.
Thanks Mel - I hope you're well.
No way was that a live recording (in THAT room). First euphonium “lip sync” I’ve seen online. :)
This is the best arrangement of the Tune Ascalon i've ever heard. Thank you. And also the voice is outstanding. And the best at the end: This all for our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm crying
You have such a clean clear voice.
You have a beautiful voice!
Beautifully played, can you share the music sheet of this song
hello, can i ask for the accompaniment of this song. i like it very much.

@@edgegymnastics8409 Hi, Can I ask for the accompaniment of this song?
@@levibayogos8426 Look it up
Just lovely - really a calming piece!
That cornet and euphonium they are too dangerous
Absolutely beautiful rendition, Gaz. Thank you. I was reading the poignant Albert Osborne lyrics as my Mum passed last week. Here they are 1. I know thee who thou art, And what thy healing name; For when my fainting heart The burden nigh o'ercame, I saw thy footprints on my road Where lately passed the Son of God. 2. Thy name is joined with mine By every human tie, And my new name is thine, A child of God am I; And never more alone, since thou Art on the road beside me now. 3. Beside thee as I walk, I will delight in thee In sweet communion talk Of all thou art to me; The beauty of thy face behold And know thy mercies manifold. 4. Let nothing draw me back Or turn my heart from thee, But by the Calvary track Bring me at last to see The courts of God, that city fair, And find my name is written there.
Prayers for you and yours as you mourn, Gareth.
This tune was originally written by my cousin Jennifer Finningley of the Weston Super Mare Salvation Army Corps.
Thanks be to the Lord she loved that you have given your perfect talent to HIM ! Gaz, this is remarkable !
Thank you Gaz. That is absolutely beautiful. Had me in tears.
A lovely piece and beautifully played. I love your arrangement of this. To God be the glory.
Awesome job! Well done, Gaz. Beautiful theme, loved the transitions from the opening/hero moments to icicle on the bridge. So many great entries, I think yours stands out! What would you say are your biggest musical influences? Best of luck for the competition!! I submitted mine too
Wow, you’re very kind Nicholas, especially after just hearing your entry which is outstanding!! Good luck!
Good effort
good work and score, Gaz! good luck to you, mate! if you like you can watch mine too.. cheers! :)
Just watched yours - loved it! 🤞🏼 Good luck!
"LIKE" and congratulations on your work! good luck with your music !! I made my entry the last day! Greetings from Argentina, where are you from?
Hi - I’m from the UK. Good luck to you also!
Always pleased to hear something that has a real hook to the theme. I love the transition out of act one too. Your bridge sequence starts out so subtley I wondered when it was going but the hit was spot on. Good luck
Great work! I knew you could do it! Good luck with the competition!
Same to you, good luck.
Hi Gaz, I've just listened again to your playing of " Then how much more " from the "Hosea" musical by Generals John Gowans and John Larsson. I found your posts about 1 year ago and came across this particular post. I can remember back about 50 yrs. ago when I was part of the cast for the Glasgow production of this musical and together with "And his love remains the same" ," How much more " stuck with me all these years. I recently managed to borrow the books of the manuscript score with all the songs from my brother ( who's a Salvationist at Bellshill Corps) and had a nostalgia moment ,reliving the wonderfull music. The "Generals" wrote such great music then, and they freely admitted that they were often unsure that they could manage it. I wonder how many have been convinced in later life by the words of these songs. Did you ever post" And his love remains the same? I'd love to hear it again. Please do. John.
Bless you Janie Clark in heaven. Your music lives on....
Yeeeeeess rock and roll!
Such an uplifting message and visual
Good job Gaz !
Thank you very much 😊

Hi Gaz, what a beautiful piece and beautifully played from the heart. I know you don't play to get praise , but to give praise . I felt every note with you. I played Euphonium for many years and can confirm that the song lyrics displayed, and played on my favourite brass instrument were meant for me today. God Bless you.
Something we forget. We think we are too sophisticated for these reminders Thank you
Thank you for the texts.
